Rue Jourdan – Pre movie post shopping food street | 08/02/2012

Image by Wouter Spitters The Rue Jourdan is one of the places to be when you’re looking for a cozy street full of nice resto terraces in the Louiza Area. Located close to movie theatres UGC Toison d’Or and Vendôme (check the Vendôme article) makes it a good spot for a pre-movie dinner. Italians are [...]Copyrights Spotted by Locals Brussels

Never go there! Mediocre, overpriced food - and they tried to kick us out in the middle of our Sunday family lunch. Unfriendly service, rushing and kicking - for instance, they brought us the bill as we still were having dessert. Prices highly overrated. Mai più - jamais plus!

They were trying to hurry you out of the restaurant. As soon as we sat down they wanted to take our order. They delivered the main course as they were taking the starter plates away.
The food was luke warm and not very good. Some of the prices are ridiculous. 259 € for a tiny portion of caviar. They have not even got the nerve to say how much it weighs for that amount.

We all felt that we were being ripped off and just wanted us to eat and run.

We used to go very often and we knew the owner was charging relatively high prices for the 'ok' food, we also knew you always had to triplecheck the bill, but big was our astonishment went we went there some time ago. The owner proposed us a 'a good red wine' to accompany our meal. When we got our bill it turned out the price of the wine was 212euro!.!.!.!., a true ripoff for someone who never bought a wine there that was 10% above average. Advice: always triple check your bill and never order a 'recommendation' without asking the price, they may not like you for it, however your wallet will love you for it...or just avoid the place, they will ripp you off anyway.
