Balmoral

My experience there was horrendous. My belgian friends booked a table for us and after more than 15 min wait we were eventually given a table and the waitress took our order. After waiting about 30 min she came back apologizing saying that she had lost our order so we ordered again. Then the most horrible, nasty and rude character came to take our drink orders (who was apparently the lady owner) we told her that we have been waiting for more than 45 min she replied that if we were not happy we should leave (which we did) while heading to the exit she screamed at us in French saying that after all she didn't need assholes like us coming into her restaurant !!!! Can you believe this ? I have travelled quite a lot in big cities met my share of rude people but never ever I have been treated like that. That was an absolutely horrendous experience.

There is no reason to go to Balmoral except that you can let your kids play while you eat.

The food is not great, but it is ok.

The service can be, at best, ok. At worst, they are frankly NASTY. The boss has an attitude of "If you don't like it, get out." And for a long time, I boycotted the place because of an altercation that I had with the owner. But recently I've relented because of the kid factor.

It was the most horrible experience in my life. I have been to many countries but I have never seen such an outrageous treatment of the clients and such a rude behaviour. We have been waiting for more than 15 min to receive the menu (in the end I went and took it myself) and when finally somebody came to serve us (it was apparently the owner), I said only "We have been waiting for more than 15 min". My remark was followed by a refusal to serve us saying several offensive phrases in French and emphasising that in this place the personnel are nice people and they refuse to serve to people who are not nice!!! I was in complete shock especially because I was expecting an American type of service. It's a pity because the place is cute.
