Wonderful chocolates. My neice was married 3 years ago and I asked Francoise to do the wedding favours. We had little boxes of chocolates(2 in a box) for the tables beautifully presented. Needless to say I am now calling again for a repeat order for my other neice who is getting married. I would recommend this shop for it wonderful chocolates but also the service.

This is a great little chocolate shop (near to Simon Stevinplein on Mariastraat) Francoise and Barbe are the owners and they sell only the best fresh hand-made belgian pralines - and they do so with wonderful smiles!!
In the winter months they also run a fresh hot cafe upstairs and this is hot chocolate to die for! They also ship chocolates to you if you want and you may visit their web site on http://www.oldchocolatehouse.com/Introduction.html if you want to do this.
If you are travelling to Brugge then you will find this city to be very wonderful, and as you walk around the sites you are your to pass the Old Chocolate House as it is so central

The handmade chocolates by Francoise Barbe and their shop The Old Chocolate House sales are by far the best I've eaten. And I know because I have a lot in Belgium and am a big chocolate fan. I know there are chocolate shops that sell the same quality as The Old Chocolate House. You have the Simon Stevin Square The Chocolate Line (which I find very very expensive) and Dumon (is a very modern shopping, nice to see but also more expensive). In the cooler months (from October until after Easter) is the tearoom open. This is a true sensation, you're going to a wooden staircase and comes in a lounge where you can enjoy a great cup of hot chocolate (made with milk and chocolate) with cookies and artisan chocolates. When you visit Bruges you should definitely have a look at The Old Chocolate House in Mary Street you will not regret it
